Connecting With a Heart-Centred Laywer
I’ve always embraced my creativity and ability to look at things from a different perspective, all while keeping to the rules.
I’m sure you can appreciate; rules and regulations are critical in the legal space. Being a registered legal practitioner means that compliance in how I offer my services to small businesses is front and centre of my practice.
But where I show up differently from other lawyers, is how I’ve set up my business model based on connection rather than complexity. I’ve approached my business in the way I do for a few different reasons.
- I’ve learnt that genuine connection is a key driver to building business relationships
- I’ve learnt that listening to my intuition and feelings help me decide which clients to work with
- I’ve learnt that personal balance must be prioritised in business
I’ve learnt these things because I’ve set up and run both a street-front legal private practice and a heart-centred business that I run from my home office.
And in my experience, here are the three main differences that you – a female solopreneur – are going to notice between engaging a private legal firm or connecting with a heart-centred lawyer.
#1 – You’re not going to have to jump through a lot of hoops with a heart-centred lawyer
There are a lot of barriers that clients come up against when engaging with a lawyer and it’s because the legal profession is so structured. There are checks and balances in place in every aspect of the work a private practice undertakes on behalf of its clients.
So, when a client walks through the door, there are strict processes that happen behind the scenes and many accountabilities that need to be met across the administrative side as well as the legal side.
When I worked in a private practice, I felt that usually the support staff knew the client better than I did.
Within my heart-centred business, clients are spared much of the “paperwork and dealing with the receptionist and junior lawyers”. We just get on with doing what is necessary so you can get on with your business.
#2 – You’re going to feel more comfortable with a heart-centred lawyer
Engaging a legal firm can be daunting for most people, regardless of whether they’re a new business owner, or at a more developed and established stage of business.
Some business owners may get anxious because there is an underlying expectation that you know what you need or want from a lawyer. I mean, you’re already an established business, surely you would just *know* what happens when you contact a lawyer.
Rest assured that you can put those feelings to the wayside when you work with a lawyer such as myself, because my love for the legal profession has stemmed from a genuine interest in how clients run their business.
So, when we connect, we’re going to talk more about your business and your challenges than your legal requirements – at first, anyway.
I want to understand how you operate your business and how you roll out your processes. This is so that when it comes to drafting contracts or providing advice, I’m doing so in a context that is specific to your business’ needs and requirements.
What I provide is not a one-size-fits-all service.
#3 – You’re going to get coaching and mentoring support from a heart-centred lawyer (if you want it!)
I am passionate about advocacy and education in the legal space, particularly for female solopreneurs – women who are taking their businesses by the reigns and are feeling that sense of empowerment to confidently define how they want to live their life.
I advocate for you, I coach and mentor you, and I provide educational resources so you can learn at your own pace – if that’s something that speaks to you.
If you’re a business owner who needs support in negotiating contracts or finding your voice around creating meaningful dialogue between you and your clients, suppliers, audience and target market, then I can help you.
If you’re a business owner who wants to know how to better serve your clients, then I can help you.
If you’re a business owner who wants to learn more about what the ins and outs of their legal obligations and requirements are, then I can help you to establish and develop a responsible, responsive, and profitable business.
Protect yourself, your clients, and your future
Regardless of who you choose to support you to become legally set up for success, it’s really quite important that you do talk to someone who has the answers for you.
